RAID TACTICS: THE NEW INDUSTRIAL WORK SPACE

Massively multiplayer online role-playing games or MMORPGs are a combination of role-playing video games and massively multiplayer online games in which a very large number of players interact with one another within a virtual world. This term may be foreign for well-established business owners of previous generations but at its core aren’t all businesses games? What is the purpose of any business? To win right? Well that’s the same driving force behind games the ability to start from nothing, establish yourself and win. That’s how we at Nix interiors are tackling our industry space, by playing to the strengths of our team in order to operate efficiently as a team, and on a larger scale as a business. Raids Tactics require players to coordinate with one another while performing specific roles as members of a team. The roles of Tank, Healer, and Damage Dealer are known as the “Holy Trinity” of MMORPG group compositions. Other common roles include Buffing, Crowd control, and Pulling. A raid leader is often needed to direct the group efficiently, due to the complexities of keeping many players working well together. Sound familiar? Nix Interiors comprises of many parts that make up the whole, we have designers (Tank) and strategists (Healer), project managers (Damage dealer) finance (crowd control) and social teams (Pulling). While uniformity and control are important for businesses to operate efficiently this type of work ethos makes for a very dull space for creatives, one that simply doesn’t work with the type of work space that we at Nix interiors have created. We are people first before we are tools for the system and therefore, we believe in having formal meetings in informal settings which elevates the stresses of closed, refined spaces. This allows for each member to operate from a place of comfort whilst generating max output for the team.
Raids seem informal but usually refer to the military tactics or strategies that are used to beat a seemingly impossible foe. Sun Tzu writes that the ‘General who wins the battle makes many calculations in his temple before the battle is fought. The general who loses makes but few calculations beforehand’. At Nix Interiors we believe that every member is a general in their own specific field, how can we then expect each member to prepare accordingly, in a temple that isn’t theirs? This is part of our ethos, our tactic for being successful in industry, everything is online now, so there is no need to be stuck behind a desk for extended periods of time, when we can prepare accordingly and be ready for our next raid.
